Photograph of Richard AllenUntil recently Richard was a Principal Researcher and Consultant at the Tavistock Institute.
He is now an independent researcher/consultant. He has worked for more than thirty years
in the not for profit/NGO and public sectors in a range of roles that include senior management, consultancy, evaluation, project management, quality management and grants management. He has expertise in the evaluation, and programme management, of multi-site complex programmes in the ‘public sector.
This includes: work, in partnership with Risk Solutions, on the real time theory-based evaluation of UK government (BEIS) heat network investment project. Richard has worked with CECAN, since 2021, as a tutor for the Handling Complexity series of seminars. He has also been part of a team providing bespoke training and coaching for government departmental evaluation teams seeking to apply complexity informed evaluation to programmes. Among his qualifications is an MPhil on Theory of Change use in complexity.
