Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Scope 1	0 – We don’t have any business premises therefore no business related emissions. Our staff work remotely. In future years we will be looking at ways of reporting emissions from annual electricity usage by each individual
Scope 2	0 – All staff work from home. All electricity usage is paid for by each member of staff for which they receive no remittance from the company
Scope 3 (Included Sources)	Cat 4 & 9 = 0 we are a consultancy organisation – we don’t purchase in or sell any product Cat 5 – We use Google Drive and do not print documents. We do not manufacture anything so no waste produced 7 = 0 All staff work from home 6 Business travel – Public transport used. The emissions from our travel have been calculated using public transport based on 5 people travelling on average 12 times per year and 20 round trip miles. (110gr per mile X 20 = 2,200 gr X 12 = 26,400 X 5 = 132,000 Gr)

Scope 2	0 – We all work from home. All electricity usage is paid for by each member of staff for which they receive no remittance from the company – We are looking at ways of reporting individual emissions in the future
Scope 3 (Included Sources)	4 & 9 – We are a consultancy organisation – We don’t purchase in or sell any products. 7 – All staff work remotely from home 6 Business travel – 0 – The company no longer delivers face to face courses, we no longer print and are embracing the new way of working since the Covid Pandemic. We are looking at ways of reporting emissions from individuals but we are reliant on public transport services reducing their own emissions. Business travel has reduced by 50% and staff use Public transport. The emissions from our travel have been calculated using the underground based on 5 people travelling on average 6 times per year and 20 round trip miles. (110gr per mile X 20 = 2,200 gr X 6 = 13,200 X 5 = 66,000 Gr)

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 0.033 tCO2e by 2027. This is a reduction of 75%. A continued reduction at this rate will result in 100% reduction by 2040

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2019 baseline. The carbon emission reduction to be achieved by these schemes equate to 0 tCO2e, a 100%ge reduction against the 2019 baseline and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract

CECAN Ltd is a Consultancy organisation delivering projects and training in Policy Evaluation. Our team works from home with the occasional face to face meeting. Meetings have dramatically reduced since the Covid Pandemic and the Company strive to continue to work within Google Drive and Zoom thus avoiding travel and waste.

CECAN Ltd do not have any plans to take on business premises or increase staff travel. There are no company cars or use of a car pool. All travel is undertaken by each individual who either use their own personal transport for which there is no remittance from the company or they are reliant on public transport. We are in turn dependent on the public transport infrastructure to reduce its own emissions.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

Reporting individual staff emissions in their homes and personal vehicles.

Declaration and Sign Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
